FAQ – Diana’s Sprouted
Is Diana’s Sprouted Granola Gluten-Free?
Yes! All of our products are gluten-free. We do not use any grains, choosing to use only nuts and seeds for our high-quality formulas. Our processing facility is completely gluten-free. However, Diana’s Sprouted does not hold any certifications for being gluten-free.
What Are Sprouted Nuts & Seeds?
All of the nuts and seeds in our healthy granolas are sprouted. Essentially, the process involves soaking the ingredients for several days, allowing them to germinate and begin sprouting. They are then rinsed thoroughly, and gently dehydrated, before being toasted and used in our signature granola recipes. We sprout our ingredients because it helps make their essential nutrients more available to the human body. Learn more about why we sprout here!
Can You See Visible Sprouts in the Granola?
All of the nuts and seeds used in our natural granolas are sprouted. However, you will not see visual sprouts or “tails” in our products. We sprout our ingredients for just a few days – enough to spark the sprouting process, unlocking key nutrients, but not enough for visible sprouts to form.
Is Diana’s Sprouted Granola Keto-Friendly?
If you’re looking for a tasty keto granola, Diana’s Sprouted is a great choice! Our low-sugar granola is about as keto friendly as you can get when it comes to granola. We use a grain-free recipe, utilizing sprouted nuts and seeds. Our formulas are lightly sweetened with organic maple syrup and raw honey, two ingredients which are generally considered to have lower glycemic index ratings compared to traditional sweeteners. Our Pecan Cashew granola is the most keto-friendly in our lineup, having just 8 grams of carbohydrates per serving, alongside 3 grams of fiber, 13 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein! This carbohydrate content may or may not fit in with your ketogenic diet, depending on your overall macros and dietary preferences.
Is Your Granola Safe for Diabetics?
Our low-carb granola may be safe for diabetics, although this depends on your personal situation and blood sugar sensitivities. We use organic maple syrup and/or raw honey for sweeteners, which are generally considered safe sugar substitutes for diabetics. Our formulas are also very rich in fiber, reducing the net carbohydrate levels, and protein-rich, which also helps to minimize spikes in blood sugar.
Is the Granola Raw?
Yes! We use very low temperatures to dehydrate our sprouted ingredients, maintaining a raw nutrient profile. Once sprouted, our nuts and seeds are gently toasted and dehydrated at 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
Why Is It More Expensive than Regular Granola?
We strive to keep our prices affordable for our wonderful customers. However, the reality is that our granola is made with only the highest quality nuts, seeds, and natural ingredients. Unlike most granola brands, we do not use grains or oats, which are some of the cheapest ingredients you can use. We use organic ingredients wherever possible, and only use natural sweeteners like raw honey and maple syrup. We believe that by offering a superior product – both in nutritional value and in flavor – our products present an excellent value.
Is Your Granola Organic?
Yes, wherever possible, Diana’s Sprouted uses organic and all-natural ingredients. Most of our formulas are around 80 to 90% organic ingredients. A few ingredients that are more difficult to source are not certified organic.
